Με την Χάρη του Θεού και τις πρεσβείες του Αγίου Αποστόλου Ιακώβου του Αδελφοθέου, πρώτου Ιεράρχου των Ιεροσολύμων, τελέσθηκε χθες Τετάρτη 23 Οκτωβρίου 2024, ημέρα κατά την οποία η Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία μας πανηγυρίζει την ιερά μνήμη Του, αρχιερατική Θεία Λειτουργία στον ομώνυμο Ιερό Ναό, στην περιοχή Γκομόα Αφράνσι, της Κεντρικής Περιφέρειας της Γκάνα.
Ιερούργησε ο Σεβασμ. Μητροπολίτης Άκκρας κ. Δανιήλ, με συλλειτουργούς τους Αιδεσιμότατους Ιερείς π. Αλέξιο και π. Αιδέσιο.
Ο Ναός γεμάτος από πιστούς, οι οποίοι ήλθαν να προσευχηθούν στον Απόστολο Ιάκωβο, αλλά και να γνωρίσουν τον ποιμενάρχη τους, που τους επισκέφθηκε για πρώτη φορά.
Το Εκκλησιαστικό Συμβούλιο της Ορθόδοξης Κοινότητας καλωσόρισε τον Μητροπολίτη, ευχαριστώντας τον για την θετική ανταπόκρισή του στην πρόσκληση τους, τονίζοντας την μεγάλη ευλογία που αισθάνονται όλοι από την παρουσία του Επισκόπου.
“Είμαστε και θα παραμείνουμε πιστά πνευματικά παιδιά του Ελληνορθόδοξου Πατριαρχείου Αλεξανδρείας και δικά σας, διότι γνωρίζουμε πότε, πώς και από ποιόν λάβαμε κατά το παρελθόν την Ορθοδοξία μας… και ποτέ δεν θα το ξεχάσουμε”, τόνισαν τα μέλη του Συμβουλίου.
Στο τέλος της Θείας Λειτουργίας, ο Σεβασμιώτατος προσέφερε σε όλο το εκκλησίασμα δώρα και ευλογίες, με τους πιστούς να προσφέρουν καρπούς, να ψάλλουν και να χορεύουν τραγούδια δοξολογίας προς τον Θεό, με την συνοδεία τοπικών παραδοσιακών Γκανέζικων οργάνων.
Ο Σεβασμιώτατος επιθεώρησε τους χώρους εξωτερικά του Ναού και συζήτησε με τον Εφημέριο και το Ενοριακό Συμβούλιο θέματα που τους απασχολούν και τρόπους για την αύξηση της Ορθόδοξης παρουσίας στην περιοχή.

FEAST OF SAINT JAMES IN CENTRAL GHANA
By the Grace of God and the intercessions of Saint James the Apostle, Brother of the Lord and first Bishop of Jerusalem, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated today, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the day on which our Orthodox Church commemorates his holy memory, at the church dedicated to his name, located in the Gomoa Afransi area of the Central Region of Ghana.
The service was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Accra, with the assistance of the Reverend Fathers Alexis and Aidesios.
The church was filled with the faithful who came to pray to Apostle James and to meet their shepherd, who visited them for the first time.
The Church Council of the Orthodox Community welcomed the Metropolitan, expressing their gratitude for his positive response to their invitation and emphasizing the great blessing felt by all from the Bishop’s presence.
“We are and shall remain the faithful spiritual children of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and of your own, for we know when, how, and by whom we received our Orthodoxy in the past… and we shall never forget it,” stated the members of the Council.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, H.E. offered gifts and blessings to the entire congregation, with the faithful offering fruits, singing, and dancing hymns of praise to God, accompanied by traditional local Ghanaian instruments.
His Grace inspected the exterior areas of the church and discussed with the parish priest and the Parish Council matters of concern and ways to increase the Orthodox presence in the region.

FÊTE DE SAINT JACQUES EN RÉGION CENTRALE DU GHANA
Par la Grâce de Dieu et les intercessions de Saint Jacques l’Apôtre, Frère du Seigneur et premier Hiérarque de Jérusalem, une Divine Liturgie hiérarchique a été célébrée aujourd’hui, mercredi 23 octobre 2024, jour où notre Église orthodoxe célèbre sa sainte mémoire, dans l’église dédiée à son nom, située dans la région de Gomoa Afransi, en Région Centrale du Ghana.
La célébration a été présidée par Son Excellence, le Métropolite Daniel d’Accra, assisté des Révérends Pères Alexis et Aidesios.
L’église était comble de fidèles venus prier auprès de l’Apôtre Jacques et rencontrer leur pasteur, qui les visitait pour la première fois.
Le Conseil de l’Église de la Communauté Orthodoxe a accueilli le Métropolite, le remerciant pour sa réponse positive à leur invitation et soulignant la grande bénédiction ressentie par tous en raison de la présence de l’Évêque.
“Nous sommes et resterons les enfants spirituels fidèles du Patriarcat grec orthodoxe d’Alexandrie et les vôtres, car nous savons quand, comment et par qui nous avons reçu notre Orthodoxie dans le passé… et nous ne l’oublierons jamais,” ont déclaré les membres du Conseil.
À la fin de la Divine Liturgie, Son Excellence a offert des cadeaux et des bénédictions à toute l’assemblée, les fidèles offrant des fruits, chantant et dansant des hymnes de louange à Dieu, accompagnés par des instruments traditionnels locaux ghanéens.
Son Excellence a inspecté les zones extérieures de l’église et a discuté avec le prêtre paroissial et le Conseil Paroissial des sujets de préoccupation ainsi que des moyens d’accroître la présence orthodoxe dans la région.
