Η ισχυρή φιλία μεταξύ των δύο λαών, της Ελλάδας και της Γκάνα, οι κοινές αρετές της Ελευθερίας και της Ισότητας, καθώς και η εορτή του Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου, εορτάσθηκαν μεγαλόπρεπα σήμερα 25 Μαρτίου 2025, στο λιμάνι της Τέμα στην Γκάνα, στον Ναό του Αγίου Νικολάου εντός του ομώνυμου Σχολείου.
Ο Σεβασμιώτατος Μητροπολίτης Άκκρας κ. Δανιήλ τέλεσε Αρχιερατική Θεία Λειτουργία, μαζί με τον Πανοσιοτ. Αρχιμ. π. Αιδέσιο και τον Αιδεσιμολ. Πρωτοπρ. π. Ειρηναίο.
Εντός του Ιερού Ναού κυμάτιζαν οι σημαίες των δύο χωρών, αποδίδοντας τιμή στους ήρωες της ελευθερίας, οι οποίοι αγωνίσθηκαν για “του Χριστού την πίστη την Αγία και της πατρίδος την Ελευθερία”.
Οι περισσότεροι από τους 240 μαθητές του Σχολείου, μαζί με τους εκπαιδευτικούς τους, ήταν ντυμένοι στα γαλανά και κρατούσαν την Ελληνική σημαία, εκφράζοντας την ευγνωμοσύνη τους προς τους Έλληνες που δημιούργησαν και συνεχίζουν να συντηρούν αυτήν την ποιοτική κοιτίδα γνώσης στην Γκάνα.
Ο Μητροπολίτης στην ομιλία του ευχαρίστησε όλους για την εξαιρετική δουλειά και το υψηλό επίπεδο του σχολείου.
Συνεχάρη για την μέριμνα του Σχολείου την Ερίτιμη κυρία Deborah Eleazar, Επικεφαλής Διοίκησης του Ιδρύματος, την Ερίτιμη κυρία Μαριάννα Γαβριήλ, Επίτιμη Γενική Πρόξενο της Ελλάδας και της Κύπρου στην Γκάνα για την διαρκή συμπαράστασή της στο Σχολείο, καθώς και τον Εντιμότατο κ. Κώστα Δεμερτζή, Πρόεδρο της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας Γκάνα για την τιμητική παρουσία του.
Αναφέρθηκε στην σπουδαιότητα διατήρησης της μνήμης και της γνώσης της ιστορίας των λαών, η οποία είναι πυξίδα για το μέλλον. “Μόνο μέσω την ενότητας οι λαοί στέκονται δυνατοί στις δυσκολίες των καιρών” τόνισε, ενώ προέτρεψε όλους να προσεύχονται και να εργάζονται καθημερινά για την ειρήνη και την κατάπαυση των πολέμων.
Αμέσως μετά την Θεία Λειτουργία, οι μαθητές παρουσίασαν ένα υπέροχο πρόγραμμα από ποιήματα, χορούς και τραγούδια, με αναφορές στις δύο εορτές.

“Hail, O Hail, Liberty!”
The strong friendship between the peoples of Greece and Ghana, the shared virtues of Freedom and Equality, as well as the Feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, were magnificently celebrated today, March 25, 2025, at the port of Tema, Ghana, in the Church of Saint Nicholas, located within the school bearing the same name.
His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Accra, officiated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, accompanied by the Archimandrite Father Aidesios and the Protopresbyter Father Irenaeus.
Inside the sacred church, the flags of both nations waved in tribute to the heroes of liberty, who fought “for the Holy Faith of Christ and the Freedom of the Homeland.”
The majority of the 240 students of the school, together with their teachers, were dressed in blue and proudly held the Greek flag, expressing their gratitude to the Greeks who founded and continue to support this esteemed center of learning in Ghana.
In his address, the Metropolitan extended his heartfelt thanks to all for their outstanding work and for the high academic standards upheld by the school.
He expressed special appreciation for the dedication of the Honorable Mrs. Deborah Eleazar, Head of Administration of the Foundation, the Honorable Mrs. Marianna Gavriel, Honorary Consul General of Greece and Cyprus in Ghana, for her unwavering support of the school, and the Esteemed Mr. Kostas Demertzis, President of the Greek Community of Ghana, for his honorable presence.
He emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and knowledge, which serve as guiding beacons for the future. “Only through unity do nations stand strong against the challenges of the times,” he remarked, while urging all to pray and work daily for peace and the cessation of wars.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the students presented a magnificent program of poetry, dances, and songs, with references to both celebrations.

“Salut, Ô Salut, Liberté !”
La solide amitié entre les peuples de la Grèce et du Ghana, les vertus communes de Liberté et d’Égalité, ainsi que la Fête de l’Annonciation de la Très Sainte Mère de Dieu, ont été célébrées avec magnificence aujourd’hui, le 25 mars 2025, au port de Tema, au Ghana, dans l’Église Saint-Nicolas, située au sein de l’école du même nom.
Son Éminence, le Métropolite Daniel d’Accra, a présidé la Divine Liturgie Archiépiscopale, assisté du Archimandrite Père Aidesios et du Protopresbytre Père Irénée.
À l’intérieur du sanctuaire, les drapeaux des deux nations flottaient en hommage aux héros de la liberté, qui ont combattu “pour la Sainte Foi du Christ et la Liberté de la Patrie.”
La majorité des 240 élèves de l’école, accompagnés de leurs enseignants, étaient vêtus de bleu et brandissaient fièrement le drapeau grec, exprimant ainsi leur profonde gratitude envers les Grecs qui ont fondé et qui continuent d’entretenir cet illustre centre de savoir au Ghana.
Dans son discours, le Métropolite a chaleureusement remercié tous ceux qui contribuent à l’excellence de l’école et à son haut niveau académique.
Il a adressé une reconnaissance particulière à l’Honorable Madame Deborah Eleazar, Directrice Administrative de la Fondation, à l’Honorable Madame Marianna Gavriil, Consule Générale Honoraire de la Grèce et de Chypre au Ghana, pour son soutien constant à l’école, ainsi qu’à Son Excellence Monsieur Kostas Demertzis, Président de la Communauté Hellénique du Ghana, pour sa présence distinguée.
Il a souligné l’importance de préserver la mémoire et la connaissance de l’histoire des peuples, qui constituent une boussole pour l’avenir. “Ce n’est que par l’unité que les nations restent fortes face aux épreuves de leur temps”, a-t-il affirmé, exhortant chacun à prier et à œuvrer quotidiennement pour la paix et la cessation des guerres.
À l’issue de la Divine Liturgie, les élèves ont présenté un magnifique programme composé de poèmes, de danses et de chants, mettant en lumière les deux grandes célébrations.
